For Christian parents, they wish to teach their children good values as stated in the Bible in order for these children to follow God's word and not fight against it.

Here are 14 Bible verses in which parents can recite and discuss with your children. The truth in these verses may be engraved in their hearts and guide them as they travel through the path of growth and development.

  • Jesus replied. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" (Matthew 22:37-39)
  • 'Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.' (Isaiah 43:5)
  • 'Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.' (Proverbs 1:8)
  • 'And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.' (Philippians 4:19)
  • "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
  • Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
  • 'Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it'.(Proverbs 4:23)
  • Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
  • "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30)
  • Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interest of others. (Philippians 2:3-4)
  • Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. (Ephesians 4:29)
  • For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
  • Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"--which is the first commandment with a promise--"so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." (Ephesians 6:1-3)
  • Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.(Romans 5:3-4)
