True friends are hard to find, they say but according to the Bible, true friends can be define in the hardest situation.

These Bible verses about true friendship relate to hurt, wounds, healing, encouragement and love. It also discussed friendship in relation to Jesus Christ, God and our Christian faith.

 "Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character." - 1 Corinthians 15:33

Choosing your friends is important as they can build or tear your character apart. According to the Bible, if your friends have bad characters, they most likely influence to be a bad person. This is the same for the famous statement, "Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are." Most often a person is also judge based on the company he is with always.

When Job's three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him. - Jobs 2:11

This Bible verse about true friendship discusses how a "true" friend must act with you. This also tells how you can distinguish a true friend. According to the verse, it is understandable that a true friend must be with you not just to celebrate with your success but also to grieve with you in your problems. They also uplift and help you go through the difficult time.

Do to others as you would have them do to you. - Luke 6:31

This maybe familiar for some and they might have read it from a textbook. This is similar to Confucius' golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." This is not just talking about friendship but it also talks about character. If you want to receive good things, you need to show other people your good side. Moreover, when you do good, others will also do good to you.
