The church in Fuding, Fujian, will celebrate its 100 years on November 16-17, 2018. The events will include a retreat, a celebration party, and a service.
Rev. Graham Henry Edwin Colles, a British missionary, arrived in Fuzhou in 1911 and later preached the gospel in Fuding. Seven years later, the pastor was shot dead by pirates in a sea trip, aged 32.
In memory of his evangelism efforts in the city, the locals purchased a land with 1,000 pounds, the only legacy of Rev. Colles, where Fuxian Church was built.
