Jesus Church in Xuanqiao Town, Pudong New Area, Shanghai held its first Sunday service on August 9 since the lockdown started in late January due to COVID.

Elder Wang Erping preached a message entitled, Go through the Circumstances. Her wish is that the congregation is comforted by the words from the Bible and to have a heart that does not fear but has hope in any circumstance.

As the coronavirus pandemic is effectively controlled in China, the church needs to exercise strict control over their Sunday services.

With limited attendance and service length, registered believers must have their health code and temperature scanned before entering the church.

With facial masks, they take their seats indicated by place cards that are assigned by the church. In addition, copies of the Bible and hymnals are not provided.
