Guangdong Churches Suspend In-person Services Due to COVID-19 Rebounds

Churches in Guangzhou, Guangdong, announced the suspension of in-person services due to new positive COVID-19 cases.

In accordance with the requirements for pandemic prevention and control, Shifu Church, Henan Church, Guangxiao Church and Fangcun Church in Guangzhou issued notices yesterday to halt all onsite gatherings starting from May 27 till further notice. They called on their members to receive COVID-19 vaccination, cooperate with the government in pandemic prevention and control, and take personal protection measures. 

Between 6 p.m. May 25 and 6 a.m. May 26, Guangzhou City reported two new confirmed cases and one asymptomatic infection from the screening at Liwan District People’s Hospital (Mingxin Branch) in Guangzhou, according to the Liwan District’s Headquarters of COVID-19 Prevention and Control. Living together before, these three people have been transferred to Guangzhou No.8 People’s Hospital for quarantine and treatment; the situation currently stable.
