Jiangsu, Anhui, Hunan Churches Close Due to COVID-19

Recently, four churches in Jiangsu, Anhui, and Hunan provinces announced the suspension of in-person services due to the spread of COVID-19.

Xuande Church and Gospel Church in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, planned to change the onsite gatherings to online ones starting from July 28.

Huayu Road Church in Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province, on July 29, announced the implementation of "double suspension", which refers to suspending the opening of places of worship and religious activities. Believers were suggested to attend gatherings virtually, do personal protection and wait for further notice.

Beizheng Street Church in Changsha, Hunan, has issued a notice which urged its members to worship God virtually, not to believe in or spread rumors.

According to the official website of the National Health Commission, China reported 49 new confirmed cases as of July 28, including 25 imported cases, 24 local cases, and 1 new suspected case which was imported from abroad in Shanghai.
