Inner Mongolia Christian Council held an ordination service for three staff workers, making it the first ordination ceremony at Zhalantun Church in Hulun Buir since the church reopened 40 years ago.

Based on John 10:1-16, Rev. Gao Zhigang, vice president and secretary general of Hulun Buir CC&TSPM, delivered a sermon with the title “Good Shepherd” on September 14, from the four aspects, such as “shepherd and master or hired worker”, “shepherd and sheep”, “shepherd and pastoral care”, and “pastor’s self-encouragement”, reported CCC&TSPM. Gao encouraged the new pastors and congregation to imitate Jesus Christ, and respect the truth of the Bible to be shepherds of the church of God.

Rev. Wang Dawei, vice president and director general of Hulun Buir CC&TSPM, sent an inquiry to the newly appointed staff members, hosting the ordination ceremony. The three pastoral staff in Zhalantun Church were laid on of hands in turn by the pastorate, receiving holy robes and bibles.

More than 300 people attended the service, following the COVID-19 protocols.
