Chinese Christians Greet 2016 by Annual Scriptures, New Year's Eve Prayer, and Thanksgiving

Holiday, dinner, travel, and rest... Many people spend New Year’s Day in a variety of ways. How do Christians from all over China greet the New Year? 

Many churches and Christians have chosen to celebrate the New Year with worship and night prayers.

These parties, mostly believers’ favorite time, involves drawing annual Scriptures, Bibles verses of God’s promise to that believer, which is the freshest innovation of this year. Thanks to the popularity of WeChat, many Christians take pictures to share Scriptures on Moments(circle of one’s friends). This year, some ministry also has launched WeChat network as a platform for Scripture extraction in hopes that it will become a new trend and highlight this year.

Churches all over the country held overnight prayer meetings, dedicated the beginning of the year to God, and prayed for God's blessings through the year. Many churches greeted the New Year with a countdown of faithful witnesses to count their 2015 Top Ten graces of God and ten prayer topics in 2016.

Wenzhou Yang Ao church arranged two New Year's Eve Thanksgiving prayer meetings and the senior pastor of the Church, Zhu Xiaochun shared, "In the first time of the New Year, with worship and prayer, aim to get closer to God - Thanksgiving prayer meeting. "The church arranged for the countdown time, farewell to 2015 with a grateful and joyful heart to meet 2016.

Pastor Hu of Yanbian also shared at New Year, "The new year began with worship, let us prepare our hearts to worship. Pray that God will reign all year round and reveal his glory! "

The Bible shows us that God likes to walk with His people. King David said in Psalms, "You crown the year with Your goodness, and your paths drip with abundance." Each year, regardless of the difficulties we face individually, we all had the grace of God. we hope in 2016 that Christians will hold onto this belief, and have the chance to experience God's grace, and draw closer to God.
