While many persons failed to remember what April 22 signifies, more than billion people still know and celebrated Earth Day 2016 around the globe.

Annually, Earth Day is celebrated every 22nd of April as the birth of modern environmental movement way back 1970.  This day is held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. As the new millennium year approached this time, Earth Day is focused on global warming and push for cleaner energy.

Earthday.org was very happy for people who participate and celebrated with them for this year's celebration and they wrote on their website as to what will be the next plans for their organization saying "2020 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. In honor of this milestone, Earth Day Network is preparing to announce an ambitious set of goals to shape the future we need."

In connection with this celebration, we Christians are reminded about being a good steward.

Genesis 1:28  "And God blessed them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

God wanted us to be stewards and He wanted us to be a good one. During this celebration of giving importance to our mother Earth, let us be renewed and pray to God to teach us how to be a good steward. Remember that we all have the things we needed here on Earth and it is just up to us to keep and maintain it.

1 Peter 4:10  "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace."

This year's Earth Day theme was "Trees for the Earth" and the main goal was to plant as many trees as plenty as the people's population.
