Qufu is the hometown and birthplace of Chinese philosopher and educator Confucius and many of his followers and admirers often flock the region to pay tribute to Confucius. Souvenirs showcasing the philosopher's image and teachings are plenty in the area.

Now, you can send a Confucius-themed post card from Qufu directly with the opening of the first Confucius post office on Saturday as part of the Cultural Heritage Day celebrations. The first head of the post office is the 78th-generation descendent of Confucius, Kong Weike.

Visitors checking the post office would be able to buy and send Confucius-themed postcards and other related souvenirs such as books and literature. They can even preorder souvenirs in advance through the China Post's online store.

Commemorative stamps and envelopes were also released in light of the celebrations.
