Fans of Arnold Schwarzenegger will be seeing the actor/politician back in the big screen soon as he is set to star in an upcoming 3D blockbuster Chinese film entitled 'The Guest of Sanxingdui'.

The film is set an ancient Sanxingdui ruins located close to the city of Chengdu in Sichuan province. According to historians and studies, the ruins were believed to be the remnants of the Shun Kingdom, a kingdom which mysteriously vanished 3,000 years ago.

The production of the film is scheduled to start in March 2017 with a starting investment of $200 million, set to be released in 2019. Xinghua News reported that these details were released by the films investment company Beijing Ajimo after its press conference on Monday.

It is also reported that James Cameron's team is approached to assist in the post-production of the film as it aims to combine "Hollywood technology with oriental culture.

When asked about the film, Schwarzenegger remarked that the movie will be an international story in order to introduce the Sanxingdui culture to the world. The actor will also be producing the film and has been selected as the spokesperson for southwest China's Sangxingdui site to promote it overseas.

As part of his commitment and to show his appreciation, Schwarzenegger visited a Sangxingdui museum on October 24 and carefully viewed each relic on display. He asked the professionals regarding the pieces and even offered his opinion on some of them. In the report of People's Daily, the actor/politician was particularly taken by a bronze statue covered with a thin gold mask which got him to wonder as to how the ancient people managed to create such a work.

Schwarzenegger has also expressed his willingness to take on the role as a global ambassador from Jackie Chan to introduce China to the world after the two stars collaborated on a film in Beijing.
