Gigi Hadid, being one of the top models gets a lot of praise as well as criticisms. She was called "too fat" or "too thin". However, in the recent interview of the Victoria Secret Angel model, she opened up about her struggle to maintain weight.

She was asked about her preparation for the Victoria's Secret Fashion show and the 21-year-old model said she has a thyroid condition, so a big part of her preparation was really trying not to lose any more weight, instead she focused on getting stronger.

"Gigi said that she has Hashimoto's disease, a form of hypothyroidism that slows down your metabolism and can cause sluggishness, weight gain, depression and more according to the Mayo Clinic. Gigi said she's been taking medicine to regulate her thyroid for two years now, and that losing weight wasn't part of her VS prep. The disease is typically treated with synthetic hormones that speed up the metabolism, which can cause weight loss," TeenVogue reported.

"My metabolism actually changed like crazy this year. I have Hashimoto's disease. It's a thyroid disease, and it's now been two years since taking the medication for it, so for the VS show I didn't want to lose any more weight, I just want to have muscles in the right place, and if my butt can get a little perkier, then that's good," Gigi said.

The 21-year-old model also shared something she learned from her mom on a shoot at the ebach when she is feeling stressed.

"Literally, screaming into a pillow helps," she said. "One time I was on set for a beach shoot, and my mom said 'go scream into the ocean. It relieves the tension."
