Famous Chinese actress Gong Li will be starring in the upcoming Europe-set action thriller film, "Ana."

Gong Li is known in the film of Zhang Yimou titled "Red Sorghum," which won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 1988. Since then, she also starred in different movies like "The story of Qiu Ju," "Memoirs of a Geisha," "Farewell My Concubine," "Coming Home" and "Miami Vice."

Martin Campbell reportedly took over the directing seat for the movie. According to Variety, "Rush Hour" producer Arthur Sarkissian and Bruno Wu will be producing the upcoming film.

According to Sarkissian, they are planning to start the production of "Ana" next year on March or April. The producer also added that the movie will be like the theme of Luc Besson's "La Femme Nikita."

"The Equalizer," "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back" and "The Expendables 2" writer Richard Wenk will be handling the script.

"Ana" reportedly re-teams Sarkissian and Campbell after they worked together in the Jackie Chan action film, "The Foreigner." "The Foreigner" will be opening in North America this coming Friday with an expected $10 million debut weekend. The film is also expected to earn $88 million in the international markets by the end of this weekend.
