Zhang Ziyi's much-awaited movie titled "Forever Young" will be released on Chinese theatres on January 12, 2018 - 6 years after the project was first announced publicly.
The cast which include Zhang Ziyi, Leehom Wang, Huang Xiaoming, Chen Chusheng and Chang Chen attended press conference on Wednesday, December 6 in Beijing announced the upcoming release of "Forever Young."
The film, which was written and directed by the acclaimed writer-turned-director Li Fangfang, originally was supposed to be released the same time with the 100th anniversary of the Tsinghua University in 2011, with a budget of over 100 million yuan.
Director Li Fangfang shared to the media that she is extremely meticulous about the post-production that is why it took her a while before releasing the movie.
According to Zhang Ziyi and actor Huang Xiaoming , the script if very well-written and they also revealed that they cried after they read first the script.
"First I was attracted by the director's good script, then I was moved by her sincere creative work ethic, as she had researched and studied tens of thousands of historical photos and documents to reenact the historical details in her production. I believe a good film is like a good wine, the longer it takes to make the better it will taste," Huang Xiaoming said.
"Every one of them wanted to act as best as they can for their roles. We worked sincerely together and hope to tell a good story," Director Li Fangfang also stated.
