The Chinese romantic drama "Till the End of the World" is currently dominating the Chinese box office charts since it debuted on February 2.

The movie, which was shot in Antarctica, stars Taiwanese actor Mark Chao and actress Yang Zishan and it is based on the novel of director-scriptwriter Wu Youyin. The story revolves around the romance between a business tycoon and a physicist who fell in love after surviving a plane crash in the continent.

According to Wu in one of his interviews, he had been planning to do a movie in the region for many years now after being a part of the Chinese expedition team to the South Pole. He remarks that many creatures found in Antartica were included in the movie and also play a symbolic role in the movie.

"People love penguins. So, in the movie, the penguin (which is adopted by the protagonists in the movie) represent better times, as well as symbolizing the desperation they endure toward the end of the film."

The crew took time to plan the filming to ensure any risks involved in the movie are prevented, including flight plans for the entire crew especially when they get sick.
