Chinese film 'Monster Hunt 2' is currently leading the Chinese box office this week, ending in February 18, with a 1,190.7 million yuan revenue.
According to film database Maoyan, the movie is followed by Chinese films 'Detective Chinatown 2' which had gotten 979 million yuan revenue last week and 'Monkey King 3'.
Maoyan also reported that all of those films that entered the top five were released on Friday, exactly in time for the Chinese New Year.
Since the Chinese New Year week started, China's box office brought in 3 billion yuan in revenue, breaking the current record for the same event.
