Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles recently said he wants to be a pastor when he leaves the National Football League. But after his team beat the New England Patriots at Super Bowl LII, and becoming the MVP, he said that he is not yet ready to change his career.
Foles is known to be a dedicated Christian. He revealed that different media picked up his statement about his seminary classes to become a pastor. He also clarified what pastor he will be once he decides to stop as the quarterback of his team.
"We have a great local church at home, and I always thought it would be cool to volunteer at the church," Foles said. "I could teach some sermons in the high school, but it's more just to be one-on-one and help those kids at that point in their life."
Foles said he wants to influence kids who are aspiring professional athletes to be motivated by Jesus Christ instead of possessions, fame and money. He also wants to emphasize that while players get paid for their talents, it is more significant to play with a team and make a good relationship within the group.
