The hit musical 'Mamma Mia!' returns to China later this year in Mandarin as the production plans to bring the show to Guangzhou from November 17 to Beijing from December 14. Rehearsal is currently on going for seven weeks now in Beijing.
The musical has been performed in over 440 cities in 50 countries worldwide, bringing in an audience of over 60 million people. Since it was first shown in 2011, the Mandarin version of the musical has recorded the highest number of audiences totalling to 600,000 and box-office receipts.
The musical will be directed by Paul Garrington, the same director who directed the first musical in 2011. He said in an interview in Beijing "The reactionf rom the Chinese audiences was glowing when we first staged the Chinese version of Mamma Mia. That's the magic of the musical."
The newest musical tour is the fourth season of the franchise in China and it will feature several Chinese personalities such as Hong Kong actress-singer Adia Chan.
