DC's latest superhero film "Aquaman" makes a huge splash in China this weekend, two weeks ahead of the North America premiere of the film.
On its first day, Chinese film and ticketing database Maoyan reported that the movie brought in a 154 million yuan revenue at the box office.
The amount is about 86% of Friday's total box office sales.
Chinese movie rating platform site Douban rates the film at 8.3 out of 10 from an average of 35,000 viewers. Maoyan also adds that they see the film making a total box office sale of 1.4 billion yuan.
Last year, DC's "Justice League" made about 690 million yuan in China, making it the lowest grossing DC film to be released in the mainland.
