On December 19, millennial Christian Heymen released his "Christmas Night" song on NetEase Cloud Music. By December 21, it had reached the Top 50, gaining widespread attention among young Christians.

Although the lyrics do not explicitly express the Christina faith, phrases such as "Silent night, choir, wandering sheep, lost soul, true light" subtly guide listeners to look toward the bright star and the light of life amid confusion.

As the songwriter and composer, Heymen who was born in 1995 shared on his WeChat public account that the song was written for wandering sheep reluctant to return home and lost and disoriented souls. He expressed his hope that, on a Christmas night filled with love, everyone would come to know the true light that illuminates the world—the true meaning of Christmas.

The arrangement incorporates intricate details that evoke a festive Christmas atmosphere. Instruments such as bassoon, recorder, oboe, and acoustic guitar, along with church bells and an opening sound of wind symbolize the chilly breeze passing through the manger in Bethlehem. "The tiny baby came into the world, unafraid of its coldness, for you and me, bringing eternal hope and warmth," Heymen wrote.

Following the song’s release, Heymen received feedback from listeners who reported hearing it in places like barbershops, churches, and young Christian gatherings. Among the audience were both believers and non-believers.

As the song’s ranking climbed, staff from the music app approached Heymen with collaboration offers. He attributed the success to God. “I truly don’t think this is something I could achieve on my own … I’m merely a vessel … used to glorify and honor Him,” he said.

Heymen has been a believer since childhood, and he began his gospel ministry during college through his WeChat public account, drawing the attention of young Christians. After graduating, he established his studio, continuing his ministry through painting, design, writing, songs, and products. Despite facing physical illness, his unwavering faith has inspired many young Christians.

“Every hardship and struggle I’ve endured has now turned into notes that nurture others’ lives. This makes all the suffering worthwhile. Questions I once asked without answers now have them. And for those we still lack answers to, we will one day receive them,” he reflected.
