If you feel like your God given work in the ministry isn't enough, or if it makes you feel insignificant because you're not doing as much as others, take heart and rest. Your reward is not dependent on a hectic work schedule or on a ‘weighty' task, but on your Father who shows no partiality.

Let's look at The Parable of The Three Servants.

Matthew 25:14-15 Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was away. He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last - dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.

The man divided his money to his servants in proportion to their abilities. Think of a weightlifter and a gymnast. The weightlifter, with all his strength, can easily lift a 50 kilo barbell. Now, imagine the gymnast lifting the same barbell; the task would be close to impossible because the gymnast did not have the same kind of training that the weightlifter had. If you turn this illustration around, the weightlifter would not be able to do splits as would normally be a piece of cake for the gymnast.

God will not give us work that He knows we would not be able to do. If you're a singer for the church choir and you've been singing your whole life, He's not going to ask you to go to the nearest hospital and perform an open-heart surgery. What he gives us - whatever work He assigns to us - will always be in proportion to our abilities.

Also, God will not give us more work than we can handle. He does not want to wear us out, rather, he desires to give us rest. In fact, he invites everyone who is tired to come to him that they may find rest (Matthew 11:28).

Now eventually, the man returned to his servants. The one who was given five bags of silver and the other who was given two bags both managed to gain twice as much what was entrusted to them, and the man gave them exactly the same response, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together! (Matthew 25:21&23)."

As we work for the Lord, let us strive to be faithful to what we currently have, because only then will we be able to advance. Faithfulness in the little things open the door for bigger opportunities.

"To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance." It's a promise. "But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away (Matthew 25:29)."
