Selena Gomez to Host WE Day as Demi Lovato Performs

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato will reunite onstage on the upcoming WE Day.

CBS will telecast the event on August 4, Friday at 8 p.m. EDT. This year, Canada, the UK and the US will participate in the annual event as attendees raise funds for charity. The charity event has accumulated $45 million since 2007 and it was reportedly donated to more than 1,000 charities worldwide.

In a teaser video released for the event, Lovato is seen playing drums with The Muppet's Animal. Billboard also reported that other special guests like Alessia Cara with STOMP, Tyrese Gibson, Alicia Keys and DJ Khaled will perform on the same event.

The "Stone Cold" singer shared a very inspiring message by saying, "We all know what it feels like to be underestimated. We know what it feels like to be judged. But what I want everyone to feel today is powerful. When we take care of each other, we build each other up. Because together we have the power."

In another teaser, Gomez is seen hosting the event. She also shared how she feel so happy to be hosting WE Day once again. She also shared that the event is about positive ideas for change and inspiration, adding that those who want to make the difference came to the right place.

The event is reported to shed light on issues such as inner city violence, homelessness, education, poverty, social activism and may move, The WE Charity started in 1995 and inaugurated the WE Day in 2007.

Daily Mail reported that even if Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato performed on the same stage, they were not able to talk to one another. The duo used to be close as friends but they fell apart because of their reportedly respective careers.
