"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
When we study about the Bible, there are times that we forget to look at the real meaning of the sentences provided to us. In Corinthians 12:9-10 it says something we should not miss: "Sufficient for you is the grace of me." This is an incredible promise made by God as apostle Paul shared it to us through the reading.
God said that he is the strength and our grace. He has a powerful presence. No matter what we are struggling and facing right now, only Jesus is the complete answer. When we need His help, he does not say to come to somewhere else, instead he says "I am with you always." (Matthew 28:20)
God also wants us to experience His grace and be completed in our weakness. He actually says that we can never really experience the grave unless we see the need for it. It means that the grace of Jesus is not fully seen until we do not acknowledge our weakness. In this Bible verse, God says that the moment we are overwhelmed with the absolute helplessness is the time that we are ready to hear Jesus and accept Jesus as the grace.
Prayer:
Lord, what an amazing thought that Your grace is not separate from You-I can't experience Your grace without experiencing You. You deliver grace personally, and Your presence in my life is grace. I know that because it's Your grace, sufficient doesn't mean "just enough" or "barely enough," but way more than enough for whatever I face. Help me to rest fully in Your grace as I seek to live for You in the day ahead. In Jesus' name, Amen.
