On the morning of August 25, the National TSPM&CCC held a donation ceremony for a disabled project called "Sharing Warmth in the Sunshine," which was lead by the China Welfare Fund for the Handicapped. They donated RMB 1 million to the disabled and hope to help them to walk out and enjoy the sunshine together.
In addition to officials of the National TSPM(Three-Self Patriotic Movement ) & CCC(China Christian Council ), the crew of China Bureau of Religious Affairs and The Folk Organization Administration also attended the donation ceremony on that day.
According to TSPM&CCC reported, these millions of donations are for the assistance in starting of a public welfare project which will be established as the Disabled Community of Rehabilitation Station in Henan, Hubei and other places. So that the disabled in the community are able to get to the nearest formal technical services of rehabilitation training and the knowledge of popularization propaganda about rehabilitation guidance and services. Meanwhile, it will also donate 400 Cerebral Palsy wheelchairs to the disabled who are from Henan, Chongqing, Jilin for them to be able to go out the house and feel the warmth of the sun.
Elder Fu Xianwei, Chairperson of National Committee of TSPM, said in his speech that this project has realized the Christian services for the disabled in China wish a love dedication. Chinese Christians always follow the belief principle that "Life did not come to be served, but to serve" and "It is better to give than to Get." Developing ministries through organizing and implementing the service project spontaneously or funding to the charity organizations to practice our Christians service concept that is to do all for the glory of God and be helpful to people.
For the first cooperation with the Chinese disabled person welfare foundation, the National TSPM&CCC think that this is a very meaningful attempt and a win-win cooperation.
The deputy director of the State Bureau of Religious Affairs, Chen Zongrong, expresses his appreciation about such religious cooperation with philanthropy in his speech. He said that State Bureau of Religious Affairs in conjunction with the relevant departments jointly issued continue to encourage and regulate the opinions of the religious circles engaged in public welfare charity event and provide an important safeguard about the opening of religious charity activities . We expect that more religious groups and religious people who were devoted to the public welfare charity in the broader field will make more contributions.
The Chairman of the China Disabled Person Welfare Foundation, Wang Naikun, expressed his thankfulness for the donation and she pointed out that there were 85 million disabled people in China and we need the help from the whole society to donate large quantities of funds to provide security for the disabled every year.
