"But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid." -John 6:20

Have you heard of the story when the disciples and Jesus were caught in a bad storm in the sea without anyone to help them or so they think because Jesus was asleep?

As the disciples struggled against the waves in the dark of the storm, Jesus unexpectedly came to them walking on the stormy waves, immediately calming them and the storm saying "But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid." -John 6:20

As human beings, we ought to obey God rather than men.  We ought to be courageous rather than be afraid of everything that life has been throwing upon us. However, it is not an easy task to be brave in times of sorrow, in times of trials and in times of loneliness.

Sometimes we feel afraid in the most bizarre circumstances, we feel vulnerable when we are out of our comfort zone, but what we are forgetting is that our God is bigger than any of our problems.

We should know better, that Jesus is always there to keep us strong and experiencing trials is a thing that God uses to make us strong.

Psalm 27:1 says "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"

Being afraid is normal, but letting fear hinder what you are supposed to be doing is a cowardly thing to do.

Take these for example: a sword cannot be forged without the excruciating heat; a baby cannot be born without pain. Jesus gives us our own cross to bear, for us to learn to trust Him.

Always remember that when the going gets tough, our God is bigger than any of it combined.  We are not of this world but God owns this world and He has the power to control everything.

We should know better.
