Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.. Isaiah 26:3

In an era where "time is money," there is nothing we can do but to fasten our pace.  Every shortcut we take whenever we are driving, every time-saving, multi-tasking, compromising stunt, that we do just so we can save more time, not be late and beat the deadline, pushes us into overdrive.

And before we know it, we have forgotten what the real meaning of life is.

We keep on rushing into things, be it graduating, finding a job and getting married.  The pressure of today's society puts us into a box where people should do this, accomplish that or have this at a certain age.  However, conforming to that "timeline" sometimes mean that we should neglect God's phasing.

I can still remember, when I was nine years old, I wished to be 13 so that I can participate in whatever "teenage" activities my church-mates are doing.  I wished to be in High school when I was in elementary and same goes when I was in college. But as the years go by, I realize that everything seems to be moving so fast.

It was when I turned 21 that I came to a strange conclusion that I have wished for something that I cannot take back.

As a youngster, I rushed into relationships thinking that having a "boyfriend" will give me happiness but it actually did not.  It made me bitter, angry and sad when we broke up and to add to that, because I was young then, my entire universe revolved around him that I missed a year's worth of bonding, movie marathons and family dinners just because of him.  I exhorted worthless efforts in trying to be with him, not knowing that there is another person who admires me from afar, but I was too blind to notice him.

But as I grow closer to God, I have realized that nothing comes good to someone who is rushing.

TIMING IS EVERTHING

God's will, is always perfect, whether we like it or not, His phasing, His timing is always perfect.  Some may hate the idea of moving slowly, but God has something in store for you-so don't rush into things.

Being young, yes we have all the time in the world, but it doesn't mean that we should act irrationally and foolishly.  We must allow God to help us manage our time.

His perfect will is one of the greatest wonders in this world.  No matter how stressed we are because God's phasing may be slow for us, we must learn to pray and listen to what He has to say.

Do we sense that we're hurried or even hasty? Maybe, in contrast, we often experience a sense of peace. Or perhaps we're somewhere in between the two extremes.

Wherever we may be, I pray today that we'll be able to put aside any hurry as we trust the Lord, who will never fail us and who gives us His peace.

God's peace helps us not to hurry.
