Out of Control

As the Bible verse says "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

Have you ever been in a situation where everything seems so out of control? The more you fix it, the more it gets messed up and before you know it, you became a mess yourself too.

We sometimes bawl our eyes out to the point of oblivion, not accepting that things will not usually go our desired way; but as Christians, we must always remember that whenever things feel so out of reach, so out of control, know that our God is greater than anything.

In case you might forget, here are reminders on what to do when things get out of control:

1.        Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Just like the famous Christian hymn, "Oh soul are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness I see?"

There will be a point in our life when we will feel so down, all we want to do is lay in bed and do nothing.  Of course, it's part of the healing process, but as the hymn says, "turn your eyes upon Jesus" whenever we feel sad or even victorious, never lose sight of God.

2.        Cast your burden upon the Lord

Another song reference "I cast all my cares upon you¸I lay all of my burdens down at your feet, and anytime I don't know what to do, I will cast all my cares upon you."

Do not carry all the weight yourself.  Jesus is always here to help you, to guide you and all you have to do is to trust Him and do what he wants you to do.

3.        To God be the glory

Everything that is happening to our life, may be it trials or victory, we must always render it to God.  It may sound absurd to some, but even trials can be overcome when we claim God's promise.  Never be doubtful of Him and everything will be alright.  It's not bad to sulk for a day, but always remember that you are not alone in carrying that weight.

In conclusion, we must keep God's promises just like what Hebrews 12:1-2 says:

(v.12) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

(v.2) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Jesus will not give you something you cannot take.  The level of problems and trials that we are facing will not be given to us if we cannot carry it. However, if it's still too much for you, take a moment and pray to God and everything will be alright.
