Have you ever experienced deep pain because you did something that feels so right in your eyes but so wrong in God's sight?

If so, then you are not alone.

You seem as we study the bible we encounter different characters who overcome different challenges with the help of God.

Take example, Jacob, the second son of Isaac, who just wanted to be blessed but chose the wrong methods to receive it.

Genesis 28: 10-12 says

(v10) And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.

(v11)  And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

(v12) And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

Jacob ran away from his home because his brother got so angry at him for stealing his birthright. Esau is the first born and Jacob came second.

Their story comes way back in the Bible and because of greed, the two brothers grew apart.

Jacob had spent his lifetime trying to alter his destiny. God showed Jacob that he didn't need desperate schemes to be blessed; he already was.

Yes, desperate times calls desperate measures, but God has blessed us with so much even if we don't even know what they are.

His destiny is far greater, his destiny, a purpose far greater than material prosperity was securely held by the One who would never leave him.

And that is God.

As Christians, we doubt that whenever we did something wrong, God's help won't ever come to us.  But we are mistaken, His blessings are overflowing, doing something bad won't hinder it, however, if we continue to sin, God's discipline is sure to come and we don't want that.

In conclusion:

God loves us the way we are, warts and all.  He loves us and blesses us even before we were born.  God loves us for who we are not for what we can offer.

We should all be thankful for God's love to us.
