"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 6:7

How do you express love?

While others may say that they express it by giving something to their loved ones, there are some who are quiet and timid to express their love.

But no matter how you express your love towards a single person or to your family, we must remember this question: "Who loved us first?"

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16

Jesus first expressed His love for us a very long time ago.  And the point is, we must use Him as an example whenever we want to express our love.

To some people, love is just a word. It's a matter of action that "gains" something when done wisely.  But that is wrong, love is unselfish and it doesn't expect for anything in return.

The lyrics from a song "The greatest thing you'll ever know is just to love and be loved in return." Speaks a lot of things, but when you look at it in a Biblical perspective, it only pertains to a painful love.  Expecting something in return from a person will only make you love less.

But no matter what situation we have in our lives, how single or lonely or sad we are, we should always remember that we are not alone.

Jesus is guiding us, sending His undying love to us-thus making a good example to everyone.  By spreading God's word, we are also sharing our love to other people. Never be afraid and never be timid to spread God's love.

However, if you love someone, you should also be wise. Excessive love is a form of abuse and it's called overindulgence.  But when we make Jesus as the center of that love, who knows what wonderful things might happen?

Lastly, love is like a flower or a plant.  For it to grow deeper, we must remember that a good ground is needed, and of course with the help of sunlight and some extra love and care, that love will blossom into so much more.

A love that spreads its way to glorify the Lord.
