Have you ever felt so sad for no reason?

It's like feeling cold in a warm sunny day, and before you know it, all you can feel it the cold reaching your toes.

That is what loneliness feels like.

To be honest, loneliness is many things. But, how does a Christian overcome loneliness?

According to this verse in the book of Matthew 26:41: "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Even with enough Bible reading, it is also possible to be tested emotionally especially when we don't get the chance to really spend some quality time with the people we love.  However, as we study further God's love for us, we must always remember that loneliness is only normal. The only leverage we have to non-believers is that amid all the darkness and sorrow and that November cold weather, God gives us contentment and happiness.

Before, when we were still unbelievers, we have this insatiable thirst for lust, love and pride. But, when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, when we put our faith in Him, everything changed.

What was once a person who feels so sad with all the petty things has now become a new creature.

However, we cannot avoid feeling lonely sometimes, here are some tips to cure loneliness:

1.        Pray

Nothing beats prayer, because it is our way with communicating with God.  In addition, we can also pray for that person we are missing.

2.        Read the Bible everyday

In short, study God's word and He will direct our paths.  Jesus will give us unimaginable blessings even just by reading His word.

3.       Count your blessings

Call it old school but having a "half glass full" mentality will make a huge difference.  Sometimes, we get so caught up with a lot of ouor problems that we are forgetting how blessed we are.

In conclusion:

People get lonely sometimes, but amid our loneliness, there is a God who will give the warmest of hugs, and will never trade us for anything else.
