Proverbs 15:1

"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger."

How do we react when we feel angry?

Some people remain quiet and just let it pass, but others...they have the hardest time containing it.

Anger is a feeling caused by immense emotion: a pent up rage, hunger, lack of sleep and sometimes you are just angry for no apparent reason.

However, when we are angry we tend to do things differently.  We act wildly, we spend money foolishly, and most of the time we talk.

We talk without even knowing we are talking about, what tone we are using.  As a result, we hurt people.

Other people has different ways of dealing with an angry friend, but one key to appease one's anger is through a soft answer.

According to the book of Proverbs, "A soft answer turneth away wrath..." how can we get angry when the person talking to us uses the gentlest, softest and kindest of words?  Isn't it relaxing?  Of course it is! And before we know it, our anger, is no longer there.

v2 "The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness."

Of course, we are in the flesh, we sin, but as children of God, as Christians, we must be careful in what we say.

Whether we be angry or pissed, or it's the other way around, let us continue to shine brightly for others and not use our tongues foolishly.

Because once what's already been said can never be taken back.  Keep that in mind.

Think before you speak, and if the situation is still violent, walk away and pray.  Don't let anger get to you because anger is like fire, it spreads fast.

The best way to kill a fire is by using water.

And a soft answer is a million times like water, cold, soothing, peaceful water.

The Bible can attest to that.
