"Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant."

Psalms 119:76

Comfort, a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint. It is also an act of providing a shoulder to cry on, or just a silent presence to a friend, family or a colleague.  Sometimes our pets give us comfort too and vice versa.

A few days ago, there has been some misunderstanding between my friend and her sister.  The topic concerning their disagreement was "love", the elder sister has started to develop feelings for a certain someone and the younger one isn't quite ready to have her sister's attention be divided.

After a series of talks and crying, they both agreed to love each other and try to adjust to each other.

The story can also be relatable to us Christians. Why?  Because in our daily life, we always experience various stress and disappointments.  We get upset and sometimes what we need is God's comforting hand, on our back, giving us a pat.

In this life, we might not get easily what we want, we can get hurt, or get heart broken. But whatever it is that we are feeling, we must always talk to God, because He will give us peace and comfort.

Sometimes, we may pray for things that are way too impossible to achieve. Sometimes, the answer can break us or make us wait, but even though we are sad, we feel God's hand comforting us.

Jesus has reasons and has greater plans for us.  Things happen because God wants it to happen.  We cannot fight it, but we can refuse to do God's will, however, it will be the hard way the we have to deal with.

But as we got through life's trials, always keep in mind that God will give us comfort, even in the time of storms.

Psalm 116:1-2

(V1) I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

(V2) Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
