Editor's note: As the National Day of Prayer theme for 2024 is "Lift Up the Word, Light Up the World," Harry Gibbons, a born-again Christian sent his prayer to China Christian Daily in order to light up China on the incoming Christmas Day.

Heavenly Father, we pray that You will stretch out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus, to Light Up China on Christmas Day with the Light of Christ to the 1.3 billion who live in spiritual darkness, and do not know Him. We also pray the news of these notable miracles by You will spread throughout China in every tribe, province, city, and municipality―to give the persecuted church in China boldness to preach the gospel with the Christmas Story, for a great China harvest. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Acts 4:16; 29-31

About Harry Gibbons:

Born on Mother’s Day in 1950, and at the age of 10, Gibbons was born again when he accepted Jesus Christ into his heart as Lord and Savior, through his 13-year-old sister Nancy sharing the gospel at his bedside. He has called Calvary Chapel his home church for the past 42 years.

His spiritual journey began in earnest in 1982, when the Lord steered him to attend Bible School, and immediately after graduation he was invited to join a Christian band. In three short years, they preached the gospel in two bus tours across America and in two tours across the Pacific to Japan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand. While in Auckland, New Zealand, the Lord gave him a burden for China.
