Luzhou Christian Social Service Ministry practices God’s Love and wins witness

Social services are not only a mission of church but also related to testimony of gospel. According to Liushi Church, from Sept. 21 to Sept. 25, Sichuan Luzhou Christian Social Service Development Project Research Group went to Wenzhou and had three-day research and investigation. On Sept. 22, the group visited Liushi Church, had a seminar and investigation, sharing the development of Luzhou Christian Social Service Ministry, which benifits the staff of Liushi church.
The investigation was led by the director of Jiangyang district's National Bureau of Religious Affairs, aiming at enhancing Jiangyang clerical staff's and believers' faith quality and cultural level.
At the same day, Lushi church introduced its building history, church management structural pattern, the Home for the aged and the ministry of hospice care, as well as the Christian Research Center&Base of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences set here, the Theological Education Center and Charity Foundation.
Later, Pastor Xiaoqin Liao, chairman of Luzhou TSPM, shared the development of Luzhou Christian social service ministry. She said that Luzhou Chuch aims at social service walking in the two legs "preaching gospel" and "serving the society " in the Christian instruction "not to be served, but to serve".
In 1984, as China administered the Policy of Religious Belief Freedom, Luzhou Church restarted the social service then founded gospel kindergarten, built the gospel clinic, the elderly welfare service center and started the recovery train program for the cerebral palsy children. In 2003 Luzhou Christian Social Integrated Service Department was established and it aims at driving churches into society, serving people for the good of others and to glory God;
The Luzhou church took active part in emergency rescues and disaster relief, such as assisting snow disaster-stricken villages and participating in rescue of earthquakes in Wenchuan, Ya'an, Lushan and Yiliang and reconstruction after these disasters.
In the field of medical care, it's the most effective ministry that it rebuilt the Luzhou Gospel Hospital which has a history of more than 100 years in 2011. Two years after reconstruction, the hospital had 110 beds and over 80 employees.
Over years, Luzhou Church practice its love toward Christ and serving teaching in real actions, in the way of social service to preach the gospel indirectly and be the good testimony.
