On Wednesday, both South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang noted that North Korea should be guaranteed economic aid by the international community once it undertakes complete denuclearization.

According to Yoon Young-chan, an official from the South Korea's Blue House, " The two heads of state agreed the international society, including the US, should help guarantee a bright future for North Korea like ensuring the regime's security and economic development if North Korea completely denuclearizes."

Both Moon and Li are in Tokyo for a trilateral summit with Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who also agreed that South Korea and China could start joint research on how they could connect the two countries through North Korea.

Meanwhile, according to the report of Chinese state radio, Li had also spoken to Moon about the US Terminal High Altitude Area Defense System currently installed in Seoul and said that he hopes the issue will be handled appropriately.

China has been against the deployment of the THAAD system and has stressed it threatens regional security. North Korea had also commented against the system.
