On Monday, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan had announced that they are expecting their first child after their wedding in Windsor Chapel in May.

According to the British media, Meghan, 37, is believed to be about 12 weeks pregnant and will become seventh-in-line to the British throne. It is also expected that the child will be born on Spring 2019.

In a statement released by Kensington Palace, it said "Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."

It is said that the couple had broke the news to the royal family on Friday after attending the wedding of Harry's cousin, Princess Eugenie at Windsor Castle. Sources confirmed that the royal family is delighted with the news, especially the Queen.

Both Harry and Meghan have expressed that they do wish to have children in the future once they got married.

When the child is born, he or she will not be automatically called a prince or a princess unless the Queen authoritizes the title before the birth. Royal experts say that if it is a boy, the child would be styled as the Earl of Dumbarton - one of the titles given to Prince Harry upon his wedding - and if it is a girl, she will be called Lady Windsor.

Many have already sent their congratulations to the royal couple, including British Prime Minister Theresa May.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently in Australia as part of their first state tour around the Commonwealth and for the Invictus Games, which Prince Harry had founded. They will first make their official appearance on Tuesday with a ferry trip across Sydney Harbor, a visit to Taronga Zoo and a special viewing of a contemporary indigenous dance troupe.
