China Is Willing To Peacefully Solve Dispute With Countries Involved In South China Sea Says President Xi Jinping

President Xi Jinping of China gave speech covering the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue and South China sea in the opening ceremony of the fifth foreign minsters' meeting of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measure in Asia (CICA) in Beijing on Thursday.

Regarding the nuclear issue, President Xi said that China will be adhering the UN Security Council resolution and is committed to denuclearization of the said Korean Peninsula. The said resolution is to secure stability of the peninsula and securing peace by resolving the issues through negotiation and dialogue.

According to a report, President Xi urged all the countries involved to avoid provocation, exercise restraint and pull this nuclear issue to a negotiation and track of dialogue.

The Chinese president reiterated that his country is always committed to peace and stability of South China Sea. While China will always firmly safeguard its right, interests and sovereignty, the country is still willing to peacefully solve the disputes through dialogue and friendly consultation with those countries involved.

"China will work with Southeast Asian nations to make the South China Sea a region of peace, friendship and cooperation," President Xi said.

He also mentioned during his speech about number of international conflicts and crises, calling more international supporters for reconstruction of Afghanistan. He further added that China will play a constructive role in Afghanistan's Istanbul Process.

China supports an "Afghan-led, Afghan-owned" inclusive political reconciliation process, hopes the country can realize peace, stability and development at an early date, and is ready to provide assistance," he said.

He added that China will stand and continue in promoting peaceful settlement about the Syrian issue and the Palestine-Israel issue through negotiation.

"China has played a constructive role in the signing of a comprehensive agreement on the Iran nuclear issue and will continue to press ahead the implementation by joint efforts with all sides," he further stated.

He stated and reiterated about China's adherence to a more peaceful foreign policy, saying "China will unswervingly take a peaceful path of development, maintain an international order with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter at the core, promote a new-type international relationship featuring cooperation and reciprocity, and be committed to building a common destiny for mankind."

The CICA was founded in 1992 as a known forum for consultation and dialogue on Asia's security issues. In so far, it has 26 countries as member and 12 countries for international organizations as their observers.
