On Friday, Niantic has officially released the immensely popular AR game Pokemon Go to 15 countries throughout Asia and Oceania: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau.

However, why are there still countries in the area who still hasn't gotten the game?

According to Niantic CEO John Hanke, countries like China, India and South Korea are not yet going to be able to play the game due to several restrictions. For China, the company would have to make sure the game adheres to the regulations in the country. South Korea currently has limited Google Maps data due to security concerns. The CEO did not specify why India remains on the waiting list.
