The publication shows how the WCC has remained as the platform that brings Christians together, even in very difficult times, through seeing the world from the perspective of others, showing compassion for one another, and building trust.
“I have so many memories from 2022, and you will see many of them represented in these pages,” writes former acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca in the foreword. “From pilgrim visits to inter-religious bridge-building, from South Korea, to Moscow, Bahrain, the Middle East, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Israel, and Ukraine.”
WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay, also in the foreword, writes of the importance for Christian unity and vision to foster justice and peace to make the world a better place for all creation. “As you read the Annual Review of 2022, may the pages here open in your own mind new possibilities of understanding, encouragement, excitement, and hope, leading you to work towards justice, reconciliation, and unity!” Pillay writes.
Translations of the WCC Annual Review 2022 in Spanish, French and German will be available in June 2023.
