South African Christians should receive and bless the new season of working together that God has gifted to the nation through the recent national elections, says Pastor Olusegun Olanipekun, the visionary of a proposed national consultation on Monday July 15.

He told Gateway News the idea of mobilising Christians to bless SA and the Government of National Unity (GNU) “came as an inspiration of the Lord as we observe that the outcome of the 2024 elections is a miracle” that has moved the nation “away from one-party, one-race leadership to a multi-party coalition”.

He said all SA Christian leaders are invited to meet in a virtual conssultation from 3pm to 6pm on Monday to discern what the Holy Spirit is saying regarding blessing the new season and to discuss a plan of action.

“And then on [Wednesday] the 17th, we’re encouraging people to gather in their various locations around the country to thank the Lord for the miracle and to pronounce biblical, authoritative, godly blessing on the Government of National Unity.”

Earlier this week he emailed an invitation to the consultation to various Christian leaders, explaining the rationale and vision of the proposed blessing campaign and calling on the Church to develop a Kingdom culture of loving and honouring one another in the nation. The invitation is signed by Olanipekun, Afrika Mhlophe, Leon Coetzee, Pastor Barry Isaacs and Apostle Mangaliso Matshobane.

The invitation to the consultation excludes political parties and political actors.

Olanipekun told Gateway News: “The season must be blessed because when God creates a new thing, He blesses it. So we’re calling prophetic apostolic leaders and ordinary Christians in South Africa to pronounce authoritative blessing, not only in this event but in the days ahead, in the weeks, months, years ahead — to have a positive attitude, a biblical authority to bless this Government of National Unity and to also develop a culture of love. And we’re asking the Holy Spirit to suck out the bitterness on both sides of the divide. Those are the elements in the call that we have made.”

The full text of the invitation reads:

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Nations.

South Africans have cause to be grateful to God for answered prayer. Many Churches and intercessory prayer groups declared days of fasting and prayer in the build-up to the May 29, 2024, elections. Initially, the election outcome terrified many who feared for the nation’s future. President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that he would form a government of national unity. (Multiparty Coalition). Fears were rife that the “GNU” would not materialize, considering several political parties’ hardline standpoints and policies. South Africans need to applaud heaven and celebrate the mercy of the Highest God for the marvelous miracle of 2024. God has preserved the nation for His purpose. It is no longer about the agenda of a section, a group or race. It will now be God’s agenda for South Africa through the collective. Glory be to God!

Blessing

It is God’s kingdom principle to pronounce the blessings of God over a new thing. God blessed Man after creating him. God blessed Noah when he saved him and his family from the flood. Jesus Christ blessed the bread and then broke it. The small portion of five loaves and two pieces of fish fed five thousand, manifesting the blessing of Christ. Blessing unlocks, authorizes and protects. Authoritative blessing prohibits demonic manipulation. When a thing, season or person is not blessed, it is as bad as being cursed.

There is a clarion call for the Church of Jesus Christ to arise and exercise biblical, Godly, priestly, prophetic and apostolic authority to bless the nation of South Africa and the new Government of National Unity. (GNU). We must bless the GNU with purpose, unity, love, peace and prosperity. The 15 July consultation will structure details regarding the events and an action plan for churches and Christian groups to implement in the provinces, municipalities and various government departments. The proposal at this stage is that all regions and cities will organize to bless their provinces and coalition governments on 17
July.

This consultation excludes political parties and political actors. It is not directed against or for any political party. It is about the nation of South Africa and the Government of National Unity as prescribed in 1 Timothy 2:1-5.

Developing a Kingdom Culture in South Africa.

The nation of South Africa needs to be purged from the poison of bitterness. We need to be taught to love and honour one another. Our municipalities and government departments must not become a war zone where political parties and race stalwarts slug it out, excluding others, delaying and denying essential services to South Africans. The Church must teach South Africa God’s Kingdom culture of love, peace, racial integration, and forgiveness. A teaching priesthood (apostolic and prophetic) must take responsibility for instructing South Africans in the ways of the Almighty God.

We look forward to seeing you and hearing what the Lord has laid on your heart at the Consultation.

Shalom!
