In 1986, Milton Gardner lay on his deathbed, whispering just one word: ‘Kuliang.’ But his wife, Elizabeth, didn’t know where it was. In August 1992, Elizabeth finally visited Kuliang, fulfilling her husband’s lifelong dream and rekindling a bond between two nations, forged by one man’s memory.
