Amity Foundation Selected into Chinese Philanthropy Museum, Jiangsu

The first national philanthropy museum, the Chinese Philanthropy Museum, was opened to the public in Nantong, Jiangsu on September 1, the same day when the Charity Law of PRC came into effect and only four days before the first Chinese Charity Day.

With a history of over 31 years, the Amity Foundation has been listed in the first batch of foundations presented in the museum. The Foundation, founded in April 1985, aims to promote education, social services, health, community development, environmental protection, disaster relief and poverty reduction in the underdeveloped areas of China. Amity projects have benefited more than ten million people both at home and abroad. The poor districts in the Midwestern part of China has been a key project area of Amity.

Covering about 26,500 square meters, the museum which took six years to complete consists of a basic exhibition area, a temporary display area and other supporting service areas. 

The basic area exhibits the development picture, outstanding examples and remarkable achievement of the Chinese philanthropy in all six sections.

Currently, the museum has more than 2900 collections and over 8300 photos.
