Ai Luming, the first "legend founder" owing three titles-village head, professor and entrepreneur, shares his unique opinion on the discussion of enterprise successors recently.

He shares that substantial private-sector enterprises emerged in China in the early 1980s, like Lenovo. They have experienced crazy development in the past three decades. Those founders in the frontline of that time are reaching the age of 60, starting to consider the issue of their successors.

He holds that we should see the importance of "carrying out public welfare" on developing successors.

Ai says, "I think this is inspiring: Foreign companies that adopts a whole variety of ways to keep business sustainable has a strong passion for charity."

The successors should engage in charity career besides studying. He points out, "Currently many entrepreneurs send their children to study abroad. These are the benefits of studying abroad that they fast integrate into international environment and meanwhile acquire the modern management theories and thinking innovation. But no matter how hard you study, I think it's not a good training method without the attention to charity. "

"So I hope my children can take an active part in charity and environmental protection apart from studying and gaining experience. They can feel the demands on different levels in the society and responsibility they should take on for nature and human. Training the responsibility and the focus on community of common destiny for all mankind have tremendous positive values to passing down the business."

He stresses that charity maximizes the value of enterprises."The value of an enterprise is different as long as its leader keeps focusing on topics of charity, environmental protection, societies and ethnics and really take action into them. " He says.

He adds, "There are many examples that many enterprises join in NGO in China. I'm working on the related promotion, too. I see many young people of the post-80 and post-90 generation focus on charity and environmental protection. The vigour is a new theory to enterprises, which can drive the business development."

He insists that if products can be embedded in the elements of charity and environmental protection, business can have a bigger social significance and passing down business shares immense value.
