On June 7, 2018, Mr. Weldon Epp, Canadian Consul General in Shanghai, visited the Amity Foundation.
Qiu Zhonghui, Amity's board chair, shared the charitable organization's transformation in the nurture of social organizations, propaganda, and fundraising in the past over three decades. He talked about the efforts and exploration in community development, church service, and internationalization.
Qiu recalled the history of the cooperation with the Canadian government and church social development institutions in carrying out poverty relief and comprehensive development programs in Western China.
Mr. Weldon Epp stated that Amity played as a bridge in the contact between social organizations in China and abroad and in the communication between the government and the people. He was impressed with the organization's expertise in relief work.
The consul general expected a discussion in the Canadian government's cooperation with Amity. He received an exquisite Bible as a gift from the Amity Printing Company.
