With internet connectivity becoming an important necessity for the public today, China is now looking for ways to add this service to public services throughout the country.
According to China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC), they are now testing the capacity of their high-speed trains to handle WiFi services. In their statement at the Modern Railways 2016 expo which features the latest railway technology and equipment, these services would help establish an integrated wireless platform for the train crew and the passengers for better services.
They also announced in the three day event in Beijing from June 20 to 22, the WiFi service on high-speed trains would be different from those offered at home and business establishments because these services would have to consider internet stability when it comes to tunnels, mobile interference, static signals, and the volume of users. Internet connection speed in tunnels and interference of mobile and static signals are considered to be two major challenges to WiFi services on trains.
Currently, WiFi connectivity is available in three Chinese airlines as of last year.
