China Launches Electronic Reconnaissance Ship To Assert South China Sea Claims

China assert its territorial claims in South China Sea thus, the People's Liberation Army Navy launched a new electronic reconnaissance ship. 

With this, PLA reportedly operates six electronic reconnaissance vessels. "The Kaiyangxing is capable of conducting all-weather, round-the-clock reconnaissance on multiple and different targets," a Chinese newspaper said, citing Chinese defence media as comparing it to sophisticated vessels produced only by countries with advanced militaries, such as the United States and Russia.

It was also reported that Chinese ships now tracks United States and Japanese warships in South China Sea and even in East China seas.

It has been known that China's claim to South China Sea is believe to be because of the huge deposits of gas and oil. Malaysia, Brunei, Taiwan and Philippines have claims to the disputed waters as well.

Meanwhile, China has said it is building another aircraft carrier.
