From November to December, Hangzhou YMCA conducted five positive discipline courses for parents, serving 115 people.

According to the Hangzhou YMCA, to build a kind but firm, non-punitive, non-coddling, mutually respectful, and encouraging parenting style, the course was conducted in the Phoenix (Fenghuang) Community of Zhuantang Street, mainly focusing on parenting goals, managing emotions, understanding children's behavior, solutions, and positive communication skills.

In the course, parents raised many problems encountered in the process of raising children, such as children procrastinating on homework, loving to tattle on one another, electronic device addiction, and bad habits that cannot be changed. They also asked how they would effectively encourage, reward, and punish their children.

In class, through case sharing, group discussions, role plays, and brainstorming, teachers responded to these parenting problems that they encountered in their lives. Participants who took on the role of "child" experienced helpless and hurt feelings after being loudly scolded by "parents" over and over again. Parents replied that they loved their children wholeheartedly but in the wrong way, but they realized that there was still knowledge and skills to learn on the road to parenting after the course.
