A local Christian was killed, and another injured in the recent Zhuhai car attack on Monday.

On the evening of November 11, a vicious attack occurred in the Zhuhai Sports Center in Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, where a criminal suspect intentionally crashed his car, running down citizens who were exercising, resulting in 35 deaths and 43 injuries that required hospitalization.

According to the Zhuhai CC&TSPM, two members of Zhuhai Meihua Church were among the victims. One died en route to the hospital, while the other is currently under treatment.

Upon hearing the news, Rev. Liu Dongbo, senior pastor of Meihua Church, and Deputy Director Liang Kunxiong promptly led a team of volunteers to visit the victims' families. They provided timely psychological counseling, extended the church’s support and condolences, and assisted with the necessary procedures.

At an emergency meeting of the Zhuhai CC&TSPM main staff, local Christian churches contributed 50,000 yuan to aid the victims.

Rev. Fan Hongen, chairperson of both the Guangdong Provincial TSPM and the Zhuhai Municipal TSPM as well as president of the Zhuhai CC, expressed that the car rampage on pedestrians was shocking and heartbreaking. He urged all Christian places of worship in Zhuhai to conduct safety risk assessments and make necessary improvements. He emphasized the importance of preparing emergency response plans, strengthening management, and enhancing public security measures to ensure the safety of believers and maintain public order at the venues.
