This Tuesday, Yanjing Theological Seminary based in Beijing released its 2025 admission guidelines for theology students, inviting applications from churches in ten provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across North and Northwest China.
According to the announcement, the seminary plans to open a program for a four-year Bachelor of Theology, as well as a “Dual-Path” program (four-year full-time) to train students who are proficient in classical Christian doctrines and Chinese traditional culture. With the application deadline being February 21, 2025, the entrance examination is scheduled for March 19–20, 2025, covering Introduction to Christianity, Chinese Language, English, and Humanities curriculum area comprising Politics, History, and Geography.
On Wednesday, East China Theological Seminary in Shanghai announced its 2025 admissions for Theology and Sacred Music programs.
The Theology program is open to freshmen for bachelor programs in theology and transfer students for the third year of the same program, with an application deadline of May 5, 2025. The Sacred Music program accepts full-time undergraduates or transfer students, with durations of four or two years, and an application deadline of April 2, 2025.
For theology applicants, the entrance examination will take place on May 29–30, 2025, covering subjects such as Introduction to Christianity, Current Politics, Chinese Language, History, English, and an interview. Sacred Music applicants will be tested on May 8–9, 2025, with exams including Introduction to Christianity, Music Theory, Chinese Language, Aural Skills, and an interview.
East China Theological Seminary is a Christian institution jointly established by CC&TSPMs of the provinces of Shandong, Zhejiang, Fujian, and Jiangxi, as well as Shanghai City.
At present, the seminary recruits students who major in theology and sacred music. Among the four-year undergraduate program in theology, 60% of the classes are theology courses and the rest are arts and science courses; in addition, there are some elective courses. The church music program aims to train pastoral talents with high musical literacy who can integrate theology and sacred music into pastoral care and worship and teach the concept of sacred music in the church.
