Beimen Church in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, hosted its first "Grace Cup" table tennis friendly match on December 28 to promote greater participation in sports and foster communication between Christians and non-Christians. The event welcomed all table tennis enthusiasts who regularly visit the church for exercise.
The church has established a free reading room and activity center on its first floor, offering a welcoming space for citizens to relax and connect. Notably, the venue features four ping-pong tables, making it a popular spot for sports enthusiasts.
The competition drew 26 table tennis enthusiasts and was conducted in two phases. The first phase featured a group round-robin format, with participants divided into eight groups playing a total of 76 matches under a best-of-five system. The second phase was a knockout round involving 16 players. Additionally, the church enlisted six professional referees to ensure fair play throughout the event.
After a day of competition, the championship, runner-up, and third-place winners were determined. The church presented prizes to the top eight contestants, while all other participants received commemorative souvenirs.
